Refreshing Detoxification Drinks

Infused waters are a great place to start when it comes to detoxification drinks. They are simple to make and only require a few ingredients. The combinations are endless, but below are a few of our favorite drinks.

Cucumbers are full of natural detoxifying and anti-inflammatory substances such as fisetin (supports brain health) and flavonoids (supports cellular health). Cucumbers also contain many vitamins, such as vitamin K (supports bone health), and minerals, such as potassium (supports cardiovascular health).

Cucumber-Infused Water Recipe

Add 1 thinly sliced cucumber (organic is always best) to a pitcher with 2 quarts (8 cups) of filtered water. Allow this mixture to infuse for at least 2 hours. You can strain this mixture before drinking or drink it with the cucumbers. You can drink this throughout the day and store any remainder of the mixture in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Peppermint is an herb that is rich in the essential oils menthol and menthone, which are known to support detoxification, digestion, ease intestinal cramps, and help reduce gas and bloating. Peppermint also contains an anti-inflammatory substance called cineol, which is particularly beneficial for the respiratory tract.
